Grand Finish in Grand Junction!

After a successful Spring stint in Grand Junction at Western Colorado Dragway Kohrt Racing took the racing program on the road for a three-day race weekend racing for big money again and it was a bit of history repeating but this time in Project 68.

Coming just short of the final with a semi-final and quarterfinal appearance in the Spring, the similarly structured Fall Bracket Fest also saw similar success as Project 68 found the money rounds twice, including the big Sunday split for $7000. Averaging a stellar .012 light footbraking the 1968 Dodge Charger, the 383-powered behemoth went to the final four, eventually losing to the race winner Austin Hockaday on Friday’s $2000-to-win.

Mid-restoration and deciding to pause the paint and body work for a little burnt rubber fun the car performed very well moving only a few hundredths of a second throughout the busy weekend that saw 40mph winds, hail, moisture and sunshine.

Once the skies cleared of the gross stuff upstairs, the views were pretty spectacular.

Major thanks goes to the partners who help make these weekends possible including Mopower Masters, On Track Performance, Red Line Oil, H&M Transmission, Ugly Mug Pottery and Pit Viper Lighting.

A great weekend it was overall! Never a bad weekend at the track when the car drives on the trailer and money is won. A special thanks to Rebeccah for keeping me straight throughout the weekend, keeping things altogether and for the photos and videos!
